Brazilian Wind Power

Brazilian Wind Power

The wind power market in Brazil is currently experiencing a record expansion with plans to increase installed capacity of wind power assets by 5,000 megawatts until the end of 2013. Brazil has a coastline of nearly 6,000 miles—consistent wind speeds, and large unpopulated land areas; thus offering considerable advantages for the generation of electricity from wind resources. It’s no surprise that Brazil’s wind power generation capacity more than doubled in 2011, and its shift to new auction procedures in 2013 aims to secure and continue growth in the wind energy sector in the country.
